Welcome to the New Haven Mayor's Office
Dear Friends

Yesterday I attended the dedication ceremony of Bishop Woods School on Quinnipiac Avenue. I congratulate the parents, teachers and students of Bishop Woods on their beautiful new building! At this event, we also re-dedicated the playground to former Alderman Eddie Clifford who, along with his family, joined us for a ribbon cutting of the new outdoor recreational facility.

On Sunday, November 8, please join me for the dedication of our 31st school in the Citywide School Construction Program, Mauro-Sheridan Science, Technology and Communications Interdistrict Magnet School. The event will begin at 2 p.m. at 191 Fountain Street. This event celebrates a state of the art new laboratory for learning that merges the former Vincent Mauro School with the former Sheridan School.

New Haven Restaurant Week returns! Beginning Sunday, November 8th and continuing through the 13th, 29 of New Haven’s finest restaurants will feature prix fixe menus for lunch ($16.38) and dinner ($29.00). This is a great opportunity to visit one of your favorite restaurants or to try something new! To see the list of participating restaurants, their menus, and for further information on Restaurant Week dining, please click here.

Election Day

Tuesday, November 3rd is Election Day. I encourage residents to exercise your right to vote by making time between 6am and 8pm to visit your local polling place. For a complete list of polling places and acceptable forms of identification, please click here.

Connecticut Magazine’s “Best of Connecticut Edition”

New Haven’s dining, arts and shopping received an impressive 26 awards—the most of any city in the state—in Connecticut Magazine’s “Best of Connecticut Edition.” Congratulations to all of our local winners for making our City proud and making us the cultural capital of Connecticut! New Haven Students Learn Healthy Eating Habits

This Thursday, November 5th, students from Conte/West Hills second grade class will have the opportunity to meet local chefs, learn about nutrition and create their own granola snack as the City gears up for our next New Haven Restaurant Week! The event will be held at TD Bank, 994 Chapel Street at 10am.

Green Tip
